Let’s face it, we music-lovers can be difficult to buy for unless, that is, we’ve delivered a hand-written note expressing a range of records which would be acceptable as gifts. Well, if you’re looking for a good surprise Christmas present for the music-lover in your life, or even just to treat yourself, should you be that music lover in question, you could do worse than check out Tunetables. Tunetables offer a range of storage solutions for vinyl, tape and CD. Each hand-crafted unit is based on the design of the classic instrument flight-case. If you need further encouragement, the legendary Skids leader singer, Richard Jobson has recently been photographed with not one, but two Tunetables in his home. Go check them out – you might just have found your new favourite thing.

“The Tunetables idea was borne,” says Rob Chappelhow, the man behind Tunetables “out of a personal desire to have my music collection around me once again.” The idea came to Rob during a visit to the Joe Strummer Archive exhibition in the basement of Fred Perry’s flagship store in Covent Garden – “Set out under an acrylic plinth was Strummer’s personal tape cassette collection…his musical heritage and inspiration perfectly showcased. It was totally spellbinding. I soon started to conceptualise how I could create my own version of this…a personal time capsule of life-affirming music. I wanted something that could be inherently useful, something that I would see and use every day, and that would be a talking point for like-minded music enthusiasts.”
