During an interview with a nation radio station, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson describe the music of System Of A Down as ‘Really Awesome’

During an interview with national radio station Bandit Rock, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson was quizzed on her music taste, and revealed that “When it comes to rock, it’s System of A Down.” When the host responded, they expressed the fact that they were surprised and asked Andersson if she was serious. The Swedish Prime Minister responded by saying that “Yes, they are really awesome!”

The hosts then went on to ask if she really listens to them at home, and Andersson responded by saying “Yes, absolutely, and when it’s [a] party!”

To be totally honest with you, my knowledge of the Swedish political system could be described as limited at best. But one thing I can say with utmost certainty, is that Magdalene Andersson has impeccable taste in music.

Andersson’s alarm perhaps?

This has got me thinking, are there any other world leaders that are secret metal heads? And if so, what would they listen to?

I can only imagine that when Boris Johnson fancies letting his scruffy hair down, he channels his inner Tim Nice-But-Dim and puts some Dire Straits on the stereo. Joe Biden’s favourite has surely got to be Bruce Springsteen. 10th Avenue Freezeout has almost certainly been given an airing in the Oval Office since he took office.

Neither of these could exactly be considered metal, so step forward Indonesia’s Joko Widodo. He regularly throws up the horns, and has been pictured wearing Lamb Of God & Napalm Death T-Shirts. He also claims he owns every Metallica album that has ever been released and was also pictured at a Metallica concert in Jakarta in 2013. Can you even imagine being in the middle of the pit, reaching down to help one of your fallen brethren back to their feet, and realising it was the head of your country’s government? They say that the pit is the place where everyone looks out for one another, but perhaps in this case I might make an exception to that rule…
