Billie Eilish is already confirmed to be headlining the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night

In a series of recent tweets, Emily Eavis revealed that the line-up for the legendary festival will be revealed next month.

The festival will be making its triumphant return from June 22-26. This will be the first time since 2019 that the festival will be taking place, with both the 2020 and 2021 events having been cancelled due to the global pandemic.

So far, Billie Eilish has been confirmed to be headlining the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night (June 24th,) where she will become the youngest female solo performer ever to headline Glastonbury Festival. Diana Ross has also been announced for the legends slot on Sunday (June 26th.)

Responding to questions from eager festival goers, Eavis tweeted that there will be ‘some news’ regarding the festival line-up towards the end of the month, and that the full poster will be revealed in March.

Elton John is heavily rumoured to be appearing at the festival, with there being a fairly obvious, Glastonbury shaped gap in the dates on his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar had been announced as headliners for the 2020 event, before it’s cancellation. Some fans are speculating on if we could see an appearance from one or more of them in the 2022 return event.

Despite a number of festivals going ahead last year, Emily and her father Michael announced during the 2021 lockdown that the festival would not be going ahead.

Speaking in a joint statement, they said “In spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the festival happen this year. We are so sorry to let you all down.”

But thankfully the festival will be making a huge return in 2022, and I’m sure that festival goers and music lovers from up and down the country will be keeping a keen eye on who will be performing across the event.
